Dear friends who are taking the time to read this page,
Welcome to my very first letter to the world! I’m so glad you’re here, and I hope you enjoy the time we’ll share together in these words. If you know me personally, let’s talk about it later—I’d love to hear your thoughts and insights, especially from my brilliant friends.
I decided to write for a mix of simple and complex reasons. First, I need to improve my English writing skills. With all the AI tools out there, it feels harder every day because there’s this little voice in the back of my head saying, “You should check everything—you might have made mistakes.” And guess what? That voice is probably right. But honestly, what’s so bad about mistakes? I’ve learned so much from them.
Second, writing helps me get my thoughts out of my head. This job application process has been overwhelming lately. Since June, I think I’ve applied to over 500 jobs. I know that number doesn’t mean much, but the process has been a journey of self-discovery. I’ve had the chance to figure out what I really want to do, and along the way, I’ve revised my résumé so many times. It’s been an unexpected but valuable way to grow and refine my skills.
To be honest, I graduated from a REALLY GOOD university back in Brazil, and I have no regrets about moving to the U.S. But it feels like I’m starting over, finding my path again. Now I’m fluent in two languages and have an MBA (which I hope I’ll soon put to good use). Even so, this process has been overwhelming. Writing feels like a way to process it all and keep moving forward.
Lastly, I want to write to document this stage of my life—the good moments, the challenging ones, and everything in between. I want to look back someday and remember what I’ve been through and how far I’ve come.
For anyone reading this, let’s share our thoughts. We don’t need to go through anything alone. Whatever path you’re on, there’s always room for connection and support.
See you next time,
J.F.
